Second lecture during Cracow International Summer School was deliverd by Renáta Konečná, Head of Monetary Policy Department in National Bank of Slovakia and Milan Donoval from the same Department.
Speakers presented a way of Slovakia to the euro zone, in particular perspective the central bank in the process of implementing ERM II. The perspective of this small country is very interesting, especialy for the Poles. As the Konečná noticed, eweryone was waiting for the answer to the question: Are the Slovaks still happy with the introduction of the Euro. The answer is not easy, and the explanation required to present a series of data. One of the most interesting issues in the run-up to the adoption of the new currency was inflation. Quite practical, somewhat technical presentation on the second last country which joined the euro zone was a great addition to a morning panel with prof. Slawinski.
