Programme and lecturers

The opening lecture will be given by the president of the National Bank of Poland Prof. Marek Belka. The final lecture will be given by the head of the Economic Institute at the National Bank of Poland Prof. Andrzej Sławiński. Every day there will be lectures concerning current problems of the Euro Zone given by specialists from the best European Universities and representatives of European National Banks. Case studies analysis connected with the process of Euro implementation and its functioning in selected countries are planned for every afternoon. Among others the following lectures are planned:

  •          “The Polish road to euro zone” (Prof. Andrzej Wojtyna)
  •           “The Euro and the sovereign debt crisis” (Professor Charles Goodhart),
  •          Trade effects of the euro” Daria Taglioni
  •          “Reevaluating Swedish membership in the Euro zone” (Dr Karolina Ekholm)
  •          “Prospects for the United Kingdom membership in the Euro zone” (Prof. Willem Buiter),
  •          The Czech Republic prospects for joining the Euro zone” (Dr Tomas Holub),
  •           “Slovak experience with the Euro zone” (Dr Renata Konecna),
  •        “The euro and the sovereign debt crisis” (Prof. Jean Pisani-Ferry).

The participants will work in 10 person working groups, what creates an opportunity for discussions and exchange of experiences between the scientific staff of the National Bank of Poland, Ph.D. students and others.
