The second day of International Summer School was opened by prof. Jean Pisani-Ferry. He is the Director of Bruegel and Professor of Economics at the Université Paris-Dauphine. He was previously Executive President of the French prime minister’s Council of Economic Analysis, Senior Economic Adviser to the French Minister of Finance and many other. His presentation about "The euro and the sovereign crisis" was analysis of what we knew and didn't knew before european crisis. It is significant that many analysis showed that Europe was not an optimum currency area but due to some political pressure some evidence were ignored.
The second speaker of the day was dr Łukasz Mamica from University of Economics in Cracow. As a economist interested the most in Public Administration he touched the issue of "What can public administration do to support economy and prevent future crisis?". Important in Mamica's speech was presentation of historic crisis cases. The idea is to learn from history. Especially interesting for foreign participants could be part where he presented a bit of polish history from communism times.
